Spider-Man 1+2 (2002-2004): Your Friendly Neighborhood Commentaries
Director Sam Raimi does a firm job at going through the nuances of a commentary: he elicits cast members reactions, explains some of the difficulties in shooting a scene, and even reveals some of the behind the scenes secrets. I don’t have a problem with that but he doesn’t really do much aside from chatting about details. Though the commentary track has the stars of the film right alongside him it feels very stilted; while most of the time there is animated talk it feels very forced and contrived. They talk but it is mostly about details which you could live without knowing. In short: not the greatest commentaries in the world but far from the worst either.
